Then swap savannahs for seaside in Watamu, a tropical paradise teeming with whale sharks, turtles, and vibrant reefs. Explore the mysterious ruins of Gedi, spice things up with a coastal cooking class, and unwind to the rhythm of the Indian Ocean. Travel by train to Tsavo on a railway known as The Iron Snake, in honour of an ancient tribal prophecy attributed to the Masai, Kĩkũyũ, Kamba and Kalenjin tribes in Kenya. Enjoy a packed picnic lunch along the way. Enter Tsavo East National Park for a safari drive before an included dinner back at the lodge. Known for its vast, untouched wilderness, Tsavo is home to the iconic “Red Elephants” that bathe in the local red-dust.
