Japan

Compare the route through Japan, not just the number of days.

Put the overnight stops next to each other. A route linking major cities can feel very different from one with countryside stays or walking sections. Check where you change hotels, what the rail journeys involve and how much time you have independently. A shared destination name does not mean two tours give it the same amount of time.

• Nights in each city, rather than the number of places listed
• Luggage arrangements on rail days and any overnight travel
• Daily walking, included visits and free half-days
