Start in Ashgabat's bizarrely beautiful marble city before the Karakum Desert pulls you toward the blazing Darvaza Crater. Uzbekistan's legendary trio follows (Khiva, Bukhara, Samarkand — yes, all three), then Tajikistan's mountain lakes deliver a finale that'll stop you cold.
