Day 1Day 1: Arrive LinzA warm welcome awaits both kids and grown-ups as you arrive in Linz. After checking in at your hotel, the rest of the day is yours to explore. For a bit of fun, hop aboard the Dragon Train and journey through the Land of Dwarves, where magical scenes and playful surprises come to life against the backdrop of Linz’s beautiful historic old town.
A warm welcome awaits both kids and grown-ups as you arrive in Linz. After checking in at your hotel, the rest of the day is yours to explore. For a bit of fun, hop aboard the Dragon Train and journey through the Land of Dwarves, where magical scenes and playful surprises come to life against the backdrop of Linz’s beautiful historic old town.
Day 2Day 2: Cycle to Mitterkirchen or surrounds (40km/25mi)This morning the adventure begins! Between 8.30 and 9.30am, you’ll head to the bike shop to collect your bicycles. From the bike garage, it’s straight onto the path for your first ride to a fascinating Celtic open-air museum. Here, you’ll step back in time to the Iron Age, exploring a recreated village where you can see how people lived, worked and played thousands of years ago. This evening you’ll settle in for the night at a cosy countryside farmhouse in the Machland region.
This morning the adventure begins! Between 8.30 and 9.30am, you’ll head to the bike shop to collect your bicycles. Day 3Day 3: Cycle past castles and ruins en…Today’s cycle follows the Danube into the Strudengau, a beautiful, winding valley surrounded by forested hills. Along the way, stop in the charming town of Grein, where you can explore the maritime museum – home to impressive ship models and stories of how people once navigated the mighty river. Later in Ardagger, take a break and enjoy some fun at the riverside beach volleyball courts – a great spot to stretch your legs. Tonight, you’ll stay in or near Bad Kreuzen.
Today’s cycle follows the Danube into the Strudengau, a beautiful, winding valley surrounded by forested hills. As you pedal along, you’ll pass vineyards, fairy-tale villages and the majestic Benedictine Abbey of Melk, perched high on a hill and visible from far away like a castle from a storybook. The ride continues through rolling vineyard country to Spitz, a charming town nestled around the legendary “Thousand-Bucket Hill”, named for the abundance of grapes once harvested there. Keep an eye out for impressive sights like ancient abbeys, castles, and crumbling ruins, each with their own stories to tell. Along the way, you’ll spot cosy Heurigen – traditional Austrian wine taverns – perfect for parents to enjoy a local drop while kids can sample fresh regional snacks. Tonight’s stay is in or near Marbach an der Donau.

A day to appreciate the scenery and cycle at a relaxed pace. Overnight in Tulln. *Mid and low season departures - travel by train between Krems and Tulln - cycle distance approximately 20km.

Along the way, enjoy sweeping views of the city skyline before following a mostly traffic-free cycle path that leads you right into the heart of Vienna and to your hotel. Vienna is a city full of charm, famous for its music, culture and delicious treats. Kids will love sampling traditional sweets and creamy hot chocolate, while music drifts through the streets – you might even catch a violinist or street performer playing a waltz. ead to the city’s eastern edge where you can ride the famous Vienna Ferris Wheel (ticket included) and explore the lively Prater amusement park – a perfect way to celebrate the end of your cycling adventure. Overnight Vienna.
