Day 1Day 1: Arrive SantiagoMake your own way to the first hotel in Santiago. You are free to explore the town, lose yourself in the narrow streets of the Old Town and be sure to visit the famed Cathedral. Own dinner arrangements.

Day 2Day 2: Walk via the Alto do Mar das Ovellas to Negreira (5-6hrs)Leaving Santiago's cathedral behind you, the walk starts downhill to the pretty hamlet of Ponte Maceira straddling the river Tambre. From the stone bridge over the river, the trail offers rural landscapes, small villages and a connection with nature. Continue past fountains and chapels on this undulating stage to the medieval village of Negreira. Distance 21km/13.1mi
Leaving Santiago's cathedral behind you, the walk starts downhill to the pretty hamlet of Ponte Maceira straddling the river Tambre. From the stone bridge over the river, the trail offers rural landscapes, small villages and a connection with nature. Day 3Day 3: Continue across hills and through valleys…You will appreciate the typical Galician landscape on today's long and quite demanding journey. The stage is completely rural, with moderate gradients. The first part of the walk is through lush forests of chestnut, pine and oak trees. The last part climbs to Monte Aro (at 550m), with spectacular views over the Xallas Valley. Stay overnight in the small township of Olveiroa. Note: An optional morning (9am) taxi transfer is available to reduce the walking distance by 10km/6.2mi, to 7hrs. Should be requested at time of booking or alternatively you can arrange it locally yourselves, the cost is approx EUR22. Distance 34km/21.3mi

Day 5Day 5: The final stage to the sea at Cape Finisterre (3-4hrs)Today you will pass sandy beaches and even walk along the beach on the way to the fishing village of Fisterra. Continue to Cape Finisterre and the lighthouse, the perfect place to contemplate the beauty that surrounds you at the 'end of the earth'. Stay overnight in charming accommodation in Fisterra. Distance 13km/8.1mi
Today you will pass sandy beaches and even walk along the beach on the way to the fishing village of Fisterra. Continue to Cape Finisterre and the lighthouse, the perfect place to contemplate the beauty that surrounds you at the 'end of the earth'. Stay overnight in charming accommodation in Fisterra. Distance 13km/8.1mi
Day 6Day 6: Trip concludes (or continue via Lires to Muxia)Trip concludes after breakfast. Optional Muxia extension available (2 days, 1 night) - supplement applies. In this case today's walk is from Fisterra to Lires, approx 4hrs/13.5km. The trail takes you to San Martino de Duio and through several hamlets and rural landscapes. Arrive at Punta do Rostro and continue to Lires, where you stay overnight. The next day (Day 7) walk from Lires to Muxia, approx 4.5hrs, 15km/9.4mi. From Lires walk to As Aférroas with views to the coast, and through Lourido Beach to Muxía, famous for its sanctuary dedicated to the Virgin of the Boat. Services conclude on your arrival in Muxia. We can arrange an afternoon private transfer from Muxia to Santiago, or accommodation in Muxia (extra cost applies for these services).
