Day 1Arrival dayArrivalArrive in Amman at any time, there are no planned activities. Meet your CEO this evening for a welcome meeting to learn more about the tour and plans for the following day, choose to head out for an optional dinner at a local restaurant with your CEO and the group. Amman is a very big city and there is not one central area to stay - hotels are spread out across various neighbourhoods within the city, often on busy streets without pedestrian walkways - getting around the city, for visitors and locals, is done by car. For this reason, to move around the city in your free time, you will have to take a taxi, please feel free to ask your CEO for recommendations and assistance.

Day 2Journey to JerashAmman

Journey to Jerash, which is home to one of the world’s largest and most well-preserved Roman ruins. After exploring the ruins, take part in a cooking class at a G Adventures–supported café run by local women and indulge in a traditional lunch. Travel back to Amman and visit the Jordan Archaeological Museum and the ruins of the Citadel.

Head east towards Petra along the King’s Highway. Take in views of the Dead Sea from the summit of Mount Nebo. Arrive in Wadi Musa and listen to an archaeologist talk about the magnificent sandstone city of Petra.

Get started early this morning and enjoy a guided walking tour of the jaw-dropping ruins of legendary Petra. Take some time to wander through the sandstone city on your own marvelling at the majesty of this special place. In the evening choose to see Petra in the glow of thousands of candles as you witness a Bedouin music performance.

Day 5Travel to Wadi Rum in the morning…Upon finishing breakfast the group will transfer to Wadi Rum to spend the night in a simple, but comfortable desert camp. This camp will provide insight into the traditional Bedouin way of life. The tents have ensuite facilities and are outfitted with sheets, pillows, a raised bed, towels, electricity, and thick blankets to protect against the desert cold. It’s truly a unique experience.

Day 6Spend the morning travelling to the Dead SeaAt 423m (1,388 ft) below sea level, the shores of the Dead Sea are at the lowest land elevation on Earth. The sea is named because its salinity is so high (up to nine times that of the world’s oceans) that only a few microorganisms can live in its waters. The Dead Sea is a resort area, with chain hotels whose sole purpose are to allow access to the Dead Sea. This allows time to relax, float in the sea or opt to visit a spa. Dinner is in the hotel, as there are no local restaurants within the resort area.

Day 7Visit the archaeological remains of Bethany today…Amman

Visit the archaeological remains of Bethany today and explore the churches and caves of this UNESCO World Heritage site. Travel back to Amman and enjoy an optional farewell dinner as a group.

Enjoy breakfast before travelling to the airport in Amman for your flight to Cairo. Enjoy free time upon arrival to explore and get settled. In the evening, join fellow travellers for an optional group dinner.

Day 9In the morning
In the morning, enjoy a visit to the Great Pyramids of Giza and the Sphinx. As a qualified Egyptologist certified by the Ministry of Antiquities, your CEO will share their knowledge about these massive structures. From here, visit a local farm supported by Nawaya, a community-led project helping small scale farming families. Embark on a farm-to-table experience learning about sustainable cultivation practices before a cheese making demonstration and a hands-on bread baking experience in a female-led community kitchen followed by lunch. After, travel to Sakkara, the site of Egypt’s first pyramids. The rest of the evening is on your own.
Day 10Fly from Cairo to Aswan

Fly from Cairo to Aswan. Upon arrival, visit Philae Temple. Learn about the temple’s architecture, history and important place in Egypt’s culture. This evening embark on a sunset felucca ride on the Nile to a Nubian Village. Afterwards, sit down for dinner in the home of a local family.

Day 11In the morning
In the morning, board a flight to Abu Simbel where you will explore the two rock-cut temples built by and dedicated to famed King Ramses II and Queen Nefertari. Fly back to Aswan to enjoy lunch and an afternoon at leisure. In the free evening choose to experience the sound and light show at Philae Temple.
Day 12After breakfast
After breakfast, drive north along the Nile to the top of the Temple of Kom Ombo. Then, continue north and stop to explore the temple of Edfu. Enjoy lunch before continuing the scenic drive to Luxor.
Day 13Start the morning with a visit to Funtasia
Start the morning with a visit to Funtasia, a G for Good project. Enjoy a short bike ride led by a student guide before stopping for tea and a discussion about the project and community. Continue to explore the famed Valley of the Kings—a UNESCO World Heritage Site and active archaeological site of over 63 tombs–many still in excavation. Descend inside a few tombs with the option to visit Tutankhamen’s resting site. Afterward, meet an archaeologist at the temple of Hatshepsut. During your visit learn about the archaeologist’s dig site and continuing work in cataloging new discoveries. Finally, visit the colossi of Memnon before a late lunch in the home of a local family before heading back to Luxor.
Day 14Start your day exploring Luxor with a visit…
Start your day exploring Luxor with a visit to Karnak Temple. Lunch will be on your own before an afternoon of free time. In the evening meet back up with the group for a visit to Luxor Temple after dark. Dinner will be on your own.
Day 15Fly from Luxor to Cairo

Fly from Luxor to Cairo. Head to ancient Coptic Cairo and enjoy visits to the Hanging Church, St. Sergius Church and Ben Ezra Synagogue. The remainder of the afternoon is at your leisure. In the evening, travel to Tahrir Square to meet a local food expert for an Egyptian foodie experience.

Day 16Drive to the newly opened Grand Egyptian Museum…
Drive to the newly opened Grand Egyptian Museum for a morning visit. From there, proceed to Khan El Khalili, the largest bazaar in Egypt. Enjoy lunch at a restaurant in the market, then walk along Muiz Islamic Street as you continue to explore the lively stalls.
