After exploring, rest weary feet and enjoy a drink in one of the many sidewalk cafes and restaurants. Begin to understand the contemplative Argentine way of life. Buenos Aires will be the last chance to try the succulent bife and parrilladas, so dig in and enjoy!

Jump on a cable car in Cerro Otto for stunning views or simply relax in a cafe. Sample a beefy parillada or a variety of fresh salmon or lake trout.

Day 7Relax and enjoy the scenery on the bus ride to Puerto NatalesTorres del PainePuerto Natales is the entrance way to Torres del Paine National Park. During the day, explore the town, eat a hearty meal for energy, and rest well for the 4-day hike ahead. Get any last-minute shopping done in Puerto Natales, and rent all equipment needed for the hike. Any extra gear not needed for the Paine hike will be stored.

Embark on a 4-day excursion within Torres del Paine NP, hiking the famous W Trek. Start the 62km (38.5 mi) route by trekking to the base of Las Torres to see the dramatic three towers and turquoise lagoon below.

Day 9Wake up surrounded by breathtaking landscapes
Wake up surrounded by breathtaking landscapes. After breakfast, continue hiking along the W route, crossing Paine River and passing through grassy fields. Stop at Lake Nordenskjöld and snap a photo of the mountains reflecting in the lake before reaching the refuge.
Day 10Today hike to the French Valley lookout…
Today hike to the French Valley lookout to see the mountain range spread across the National Park. Take in the dramatic, contrasting greens and greys on the landscape.
Day 11The final day of the W Trek leads…
The final day of the W Trek leads to Grey Lake and the lookout point for Grey Glacier. Gaze off into the distance admiring the scale of this immense glacier. Continue trekking to Lake Pehoé and finish by taking a picturesque ferry ride across the lake enjoying the sense of accomplishment.
Day 12Cross back over the Andes and travel by…Leave Chile and return to Argentina, travelling across the dusty, windy altiplano. The long road takes us through the arid southern pampas and across the border to the turquoise waters of Argentino Lake and the town of El Calafate. A spectacular drive west towards the mountains leads us to the dynamic Moreno glacier. Look for condors, rheas, eagles or flamingos en route, but the real star of the day is the stunning Moreno Glacier, at the southern terminus of Glacier National Park.

Enjoy an optional cruise along the Beagle Channel (named after Darwin's expedition vessel) providing panoramic views of the scenery and the chance to spot marine animals and a variety of marine birds. Back on land there are various options, including bird watching, day hikes in Tierra del Fuego National Park, horseback riding, and a visit to a penguin colony in Harberton Ranch.
