Day 10In the morningAmazonTransfer one hour from Manaus to the village of Rio Preto da Eva, visit a local market before heading up river by motorized canoe to the jungle lodge. The wet season, from March to August known as igapó, floods the surrounding forests enriching the soil and plants. Gliding over the submerged forest by canoe is an experience that is unique to the Amazon. The dry season from September to February also has its draws, when the level of the river reaches its lowest, fish crowd together making them easy targets for catfish and dolphins. Lower water levels also make it harder for caimans to hide and easier to spot.
