Note that if you start your trip on a Thursday in July or August, there will not be a tasting as the winery shop is closed on a Sunday during that time. Valdobbiadene is where many of the top vineyards and producers are located, especially those on the steep, hand-tended slopes known as the Rive. While not officially designated as the capital, Valdobbiadene is widely recognised as the heart and soul of the Prosecco region, especially by wine lovers and those in the industry.
